How It Works
Polyurethane Concrete Driveway Repair & Raising
Cost-effective and efficient concrete driveway repair contractors with Slab Rescue.
Generally speaking, raising concrete with polyurethane foam is an easy, quick, and inexpensive solution. Moreover, it has benefits for residential & commercial applications. Homeowners and business owners have found concrete driveway repair, walkways and patios have not only become less expensive. But also more effective with Foamjection solutions.
In just a matter of minutes, polyurethane foam can create a perfectly leveled driveway.
The process starts with ⅝” injection holes (the size of a dime) strategically drilled to lift and restore the sunken driveway. Polyurethane foam is injected into the holes. Which, causes a chemical reaction to fill uneven space under the slab of concrete. We then patch the drilled holes with fresh concrete.
Customers are often happily surprised by polyurethane foam. Because the process creates perfect concrete. It works in a matter of minutes saving time and money.

Major Causes of Concrete Settling
Poorly Compacted Fill Soil
More than likely, fill soil was probably used to level the ground before any construction or concrete was poured at your home. Especially if you are in a new home. In the event that you recently constructed a new driveway, patio, or sidewalk, fill soil was probably brought in. For the purpose of ensuring you have an even, flat foundation for the pavement. With this in mind, if the fill soil was not compacted properly it will settle and compress with time. In this case, sinking and cracking will eventually occur. As a matter of fact, settling can sometimes be very severe and could require immediate attention.
Changes in Soil Moisture
Settling will occur when soil moisture changes underneath a concrete slab. This moisture change can create voids in the overall volume of the soil. With this in mind, areas, where the soil is made up of mostly clay, are affected the most. Given this point, clay will shrink and compact when it dries out. Whereas, the opposite occurs when it gets wet. Thus, causing it to expand. The weather in Virginia varies with the seasons. Not to mention, that we are on the coast.
Washouts Underneath the Concrete
In general, there are many reasons why washouts may occur. The biggest is heavy precipitation. Erosion takes place not only from natural causes. But also from leaky sprinklers, plumbing lines, or by accidentally leaving a hose on for an extended period. With this in mind, washouts come about when these water incidents get under your concrete slabs. As a result, causing your concrete to sink.
